Pasta Roller

I got a new kitchen tool today! A pasta roller is inexpensive as far as kitchen tools go. I'll definitely be getting my money's worth out of this one! Be excepting to see a fresh pasta recipe on here in the near future!

This is one of the salads I used to make at Rowlands
This is what happened when I was told to "be creative"...this is the plating detail of a salad

I was so excited to have dinner at The London West Hollywood for New Years in 2011!
More from New Years

This was me about to eat a REAL Italian pizza! It was the very first thing I ate in Rome. I had it within about an hour of getting off the plane!

Peach Salsa

So this is my first healthy recipe! Its my very own peach salsa that is super easy and delicious! I made this for a potluck at school and it was a hit! Everyone loved it, so I hope you do too!

          What you will need:
  • 4 regular sized peaches (between 2 and 3 cups diced)
  • 2 large tomatoes (about 4 cups diced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • jalapeño (de-seeded and minced)
  • 1/3 cup cilantro (leaves picked from stem and roughly chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • Spices (used *cayenne pepper, *crushed red pepper flakes, *cumin, *chili powder)

   (spices not pictured)

          Preparation:

  1. Peel and dice peaches.
  2. Dice tomatoes (Peeling is optional. Other salsa recipes may tell you to peel the tomatoes too, but I didn't for this recipe).
  3. Mince garlic cloves.
  4. De-seed and mince jalapeño.
  5. Pull cilantro leaves off of stem and chop them.
  6. Combine all ingredients and drizzle lime juice over the top of everything.
  7. Dash your select spices onto the mixture until desired taste is achieved.
Enjoy with your favorite chips, on a salad, or on top of meats (I would recommend chicken or fish)!

How I started

There are many people who have been inspirational to me ranging from my wonderful family and friends, to the kitchen crew that helped me get my start by giving me a chance. Maybe this section will spark an interest in you too! Pictures coming soon.

About Me

Why Relish?

My name is Aubrey Jarman, and I am a graduate of Appalachian State University! I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Nutrition:Dietetics and a minor in Exercise Science. Upon graduating, I am completed a dietetic internship at an ACEND accredited internship in North Carolina, and took and passed the Registered Dietitian exam!

I created "Relish" because I think everyone should "relish" their health. I am a strong believer that health is a total body concept and that diet and exercise go hand in hand.
Once I obtained my RD credential, I went ahead and pursued a primary group fitness certification through AFAA. I currently work as a clinical research dietitian and fitness specialist at Duke University and plan to continue to use my knowledge of food and exercise to help others achieve their health and fitness goals!
